Pharrell Williams recently launched an entrepreneurship initiative aimed at middle and high school students who aspire to build socially conscious businesses!
The initiative is called “Your Voice is Power” and is a collaborative effort by Williams, Amazon, and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
It aims to increase minority representation in the STEAM fields.
In this initiative, students will compete to code a remix to Williams and Jay-Z’s song “Entrepreneur”.
The students who win will be rewarded $5,000 scholarships or grants that go towards helping them start their own companies!
This initiative aligns with the other amazing community work Pharrell has done in the past, such as building music education programs and providing scholarships for students in underserved communities.
It also comes a few months after Pharrell launched a non-profit called “Black Ambition”, aimed at supporting black and brown entrepreneurs who have businesses in healthcare, tech, design, and consumer products.
